 [ Back ] Responsible Care was born in Canada in 1986, and soon it was adopted by the industry of United State, Europe, Australia and Japan. Later other countries joined the initiative, making a total of 42 today. Since 1991 the ICCA (International Council of Chemical Association), through Responsible Care Leadership Group, cares to assure the integrity in the development of the world of the program and it is the reference for its world promotion. The Responsible Care implementation in Chile, starts on the second semester of 1994, when Asiquim Directory [ www.Asiquim.cl ] adopted the principles of such ethics and began the legal steps to register the logo and proper name. Currently, Asiquim is an associated member of ICCA, and maintains a permanent exchange of information with this Council and attends the Responsible Care Leadership Group annual meetings. A company with operations in Chile only can use the Responsible Care name, logo and support materials if it is member of Asiquim and has formalized its commitment with the ethics principles. On the other hand, since 1997 the subscription of this principles is a mandatory condition for each new member of Asiquim. Responsible Care and their logo are trade marks of this association and they can only be used meeting the "Rules for the Mark and Logo Use." This logo was developed by CMA (Chemical Manufacturers Association) in United States. Today all the chemical companies and associations of chemical industries of the world joined to Responsible Care used it, to show their commitment with this ethics. [ Back ] |
