This code is designed to prevent fires, explosions, spills or accidental leaks of chemical substances. It is formed by a serial of administration practices, that reflects this objective, expecting  permanent improvements in the performance of each one.

The Code, helps to identify areas where the companies can improve their performance in security, considering the design process, operation and routine maintenance steps.

The essential principle of the Code consists in that the facilities will be safe if they are designed and operated in safe way.

 The Security code in the Productive Processes requires that the industrial facilities:

• Develop a process' security program which include performance indicators, audits and corrective actions.

• Check the security conditions in all the new facilities or in those that have been modified during their design and their starting-up.

• Document and develop maintenance and inspection programs which assure the realiability put into the facilities.

• Develop and practice enough protection levels, to prevent that simple fail turn into in catastrophic events.

• Train the personnel to to make them able to develop their work reaching and keeping safe labor practices.

• To share with the industry, government and community relevant information that it has been learned from incidents and  will  help to prevent future emergencies.
