MARITIME FACILITIES

Pier
This Terminal is in operation since 1981 and counts with a pier since 1994.

Location:

S 32° 45´ 30"

O 71° 29´ 34"

It has two mooring places

Total length (including hillock):

850 m

Water depth at the hillock:

16 m NRS

(NRS= Water level with minimum tide)

Entry bridge:
4x4 steel square structure

Vessel´s Characteristics
Two vessels may operate simultaneously with the following characteristics according to the pier´s design:

DWT:

40.000 t (max.)

Length:

211 m (max.)

Maximum depth fully loaded:

12,2 m (max.)

Reception of vessels may be performed diurnal or at night.

GROUND FACILITIES

Tanks
The terminal counts with 30 storage tanks and 8 operational tanks, with a total storage capacity of 70.000 m3 (the smallest, 160 m3 and the largest, 12.000 m3), linked up to some manifolds which connect them to the pipes coming from the pier.


Loading and Undloading Stations
The terminal has two loading stations, each with different discharge positions. There is also a third station for Sulphuric Acid.

Firefighting Facilities
There is a water storage tank connected to a three pump rack. The fuel tanks counts with a foam system.

Vapour
The boiler and the vapour net allow working with solid products at room temperature.

Drinking Water and Process Water
A deep well provides good quality water, some of which is treated for domestic use and for vessels.

Additional Support Services and Facilities
Offices, warehouse, lockers, workshop, a laboratory, restaurant and bedrooms are provided on site.

Environmental Protection
Environmental protection is a major concern in the design of all the new facilities of the company. Therefore, all our processes are developed to reduce residuals and contaminated waters.

Other Information
The electrical installation is secure in case of explosion in all those places in which there may be flammable products (closeness to ponds, bombs, the end of the Pier, etc.). If necessary, there is Nitrogen for appropiate operation.
